Didier Gallot LavalléeDidier Gallot Lavallée started his career in 1978 with Royal de Luxe (royal-de-luxe.com), right at the beginning of their adventure and became a pillar of the company for more than 25 years, helping to create one of the most influential body of work in world street theatre.
A comedian and artist, described by many as a matter magician, Didier is a multifaceted creator who has accumulated a huge experience in creating art in and for the diverse public spaces of the 5 continents, from puppetry to sounds, smells or movement, machines, costume making, special effects, massive decors and installations, acting and directing. The last few years saw Didier developing more of his own personal work, from participative shows with children in France and Vietnam, to installations transforming city centres into beautiful gardens. He also teaches drama in France and Italy and collaborates with La Machine (Nantes), on projects such as ”Les symphonies Mecaniques“ (lamachine.fr). Since 2010 Didier is working in collaboration with Cork Community Art Link to develop Voices from Shandon. |
Clara Avecilla
Clara Avecilla is a textile graphic designer from Barcelona.
She lives in a world of drawings, and loves theatre and puppets. Because she likes to travel and to discover new cultures she decided to come to Ireland and to volunteer for one year in Cork Community Art Link as an EVS. Here she participated in projects like "Dragon of Shandon" and "St.Patrick's Parade". But the project she has been fully involved in is "Voices from Shandon", where she enjoyed the opportunity to work with people from different communities from Cork. Sonya Keogh
Sonya Keogh is an international children's and youth arts specialist.
Living in Cork, Sonya travels the world as artistic director and children's and youth music facilitator to international children's and youth arts events. She has been responsible for designing and developing unique children's and youth arts programmes for European Capitals of Culture Cork 2005, Liverpool 2008, Vilnius 2009, and Pecs 2010 and for the World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. Sonya has worked with thousands of children and young people around the world and is delighted to be working at home in Cork with Cork Community Art link as Music Director to their multi-disciplinary children's programme Voices from Shandon celebrating community and diversity during Ireland's Hosting of the European Presidency. Sonya advocates a child-centred approach, emphasises quality and equality in the creative process and ensures excellence of artistic achievement and result. John O'BrienJohn O'Brien is a conductor, director and composer based in Cork.
Recent work includes: conducting, co-directing and arranging Pagliacci at the Everyman; directing and designing the set for the acclaimed production of Dido & Aeneas at the Cork Opera House which toured across Ireland; directing the dance film Inner Landscapes; musical direction for the premieres of two modern operas Thamyrus and Time for Earthenware at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford; creating The Voice Effect (Choir-in-Residence at Cork Opera House); and writing the music for the feature film Tree Keeper. John has worked on over forty different productions of opera and musical theatre in Ireland, Northern Ireland, London, Edinburgh, Montreal and Regina; and has toured with choirs across Europe, Japan and China. He is the former Music Director of Opera Works and the Cork Children's Chorus. He has conducted a recording with the National Chamber Choir, and the TV programme Carols from Cork 2005, both for RTE.
